25 May Year 6’s Heart Dissection Workshop
Year 6 have been studying the heart and circulatory system. Over the past few weeks, they have explored: how the heart works; the components of the circulatory system; the relationship between the digestive and circulatory system; and the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. To deepen their understanding, they took part in a workshop which allowed them to explore the ventricles and atria of the heart in more detail. Not only were they able to identify the aorta and the vena cava; they were also able to dissect a heart to explore further how blood flows through each chamber. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
