Vacancies

Home > About Us  > About SHS > Vacancies

If you are thinking of joining our team it is really important to us that you have examined our vision and values first. You’re welcome to visit the school so you can see, and feel, the vision and values made real in the way we all work together. We consistently receive positive comments from visitors about how warm and welcoming our school is. This culture does not come at the expense of the very high standards of excellence in teaching, and learning, we expect – rather, our culture supports this goal.

Assistant Headteacher

Salary: L6 – L10 (Inner London)          £65,731 – £71,614

To start September 2025

Due to the promotion of our current Assistant Headteacher we are looking for a dynamic primary practitioner to join our friendly and hardworking team. We strive to maintain our vision of our school as a thriving village and are proud of how often visitors comment on how successful we are.

We have a great reputation which we are keen to build on. We regularly welcome visitors from a range of schools and institutions who are keen to see what we do. So you would need to be a leader who is keen to maintain our high standards, as well as sharing our successes with others.

We train the leaders of the future and have a record of teachers moving on to other leadership roles including Headship. We want an ambitious Assistant Headteacher who is interested in developing the career of all of our staff, as well as their own.

We are fortunate to be very well resourced including a generous range of Apple technology in every classroom, dedicated music room, music specialist, PE coaches and swimming pool.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience teaching the Opening Worlds curriculum (or a similar knowledge rich humanities curriculum) and using Walk Thrus to develop pedagogy.

We are happy to show you around. Contact our friendly office staff to arrange a visit.

This post will require classroom teaching as well as dedicated leadership time.

Deadline for applications: Midday, Friday 16th May

Interviews: Wednesday, 21st May

Please contact Rianna Lee for an application pack: hr@shsharingey.co.uk or on 0208 340 2757.

We reserve the right to make an appointment prior to interview for the right candidate

South Harringay School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) with barred list check will be required. Also, if this post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to declare.

Class Teacher KS1 or KS2

We’re looking for enthusiastic teachers to join our dynamic and supportive team of professionals in September 2024. Ideally, we like teachers who are open to teaching in key stage 1 or 2.

We want to train the leaders of the future and work hard to create a range of opportunities for you to develop outstanding practise both in your classroom and across the school.

We are fortunate to be very well resourced including a generous range of Apple technology in every classroom, dedicated music room, music specialist, PE coaches and swimming pool.

We have a history of obtaining outstanding rates of progress for our diverse range of children across the entire curriculum. You will receive plenty of support in mastering our methods. Our program of professional development ensures we are all focused on our school improvement priorities while also arranging bespoke experiences for the individual.

Our school vision, and our values are integral to the way we work day to day. We work hard together to ensure we are living and learning by our values.

We are open to applications from experienced teachers and those who are new to the profession.

Visits to our school are welcome.
