08 Mar World Book Day
We started the week off with a World Book Day assembly where the children shared what they enjoy reading, they also gave each other tips about reading and recommended books to each other. Not only have we dressed up this year for World Book Day, but we have also run some exciting competitions. Children have brought in some fantastic dioramas, stories in a jar, 3D models and collages of book front covers. I am sure that you will agree that the creativity and effort that has gone into the projects is incredible!
We have also had lots of families contributing to the wider school by sponsoring their children to read over the last month and we really do appreciate all of the donations. We have raised an extraordinary amount of money of over £1950 across both schools and money is still coming in. The children have been able to share what books they would like to see in the library as a result of the money raised! We are truly grateful for these contributions and I am sure you will hear from your child how excited they will be when they see some of their recommendations in the library.
