About SHS

Welcome to our school’s website. We want it to reflect what a fantastic place our school is for children to learn, develop and play. We are a diverse community of learners, and we emphasise excellent progress, whatever each individual child’s starting point or circumstances.

Our school is a thriving village ready to welcome those who have travelled from near and far and need a place to belong. Our village welcomes all people, and, those who struggle to feel at home will be enveloped within our heart, because time and care is taken to support those first tentative steps and each individual journey. As village elders, we’re excited by the variety that village life brings. We try to make every day better than the last. We prepare our people for their time when they will join another village, or even create their own.

Our admissions are handled by the local authority.

Due the Pandemic, statutory assessments during the last two academic years have not taken place. Our historical data reflects significant improvements in children achieving the higher standard at the end of key stage 1. They also show attainment results significantly above the national average in key stage 2. In addition, they reflect 5 years of our school consistently achieving outstanding rates of progress for children by the end of key stage 2.

A Federation between the SHJS and SHINS schools has secured high-quality leadership for our schools and lead to continued improvement in teaching and learning for current and future pupils at the schools.
