FRIENDS OF SOUTH HARRINGAY

 

Welcome to the Friends of South Harringay (FOSH), our school’s Parents and Staff Association. Together, we bring families and staff together, organise events and raise funds for projects that make a real difference to school life. Everyone in our school community is automatically a member, and there are plenty of ways to get involved—whether you volunteer, attend an event or make a donation.

Our main purpose is to raise funds for projects that benefit pupils across the school. We also create opportunities for parents, carers and staff to come together. FOSH is run entirely by volunteers. We rely on people sharing their ideas, skills and time to make activities and fundraising possible.

FOSH is a registered charity led by a volunteer committee that meets on a regular basis. We also hold an annual general meeting (AGM), which all parents, carers and staff are welcome to attend.

Fundraising

FOSH raises funds for the school’s projects that would otherwise fall outside the school’s
usual budget or priorities.

Here are some examples of things that we have funded in the past:

● The gazebo in the Juniors playground
● New playgrounds for Nursery, Infants and Juniors
● Bike and scooter parking
● Murals in the Infants and Juniors stairwells
● Poddely play equipment for Infants and Juniors
● Anti-pollution ivy and green coverage around the playgroundsEvents

We have a successful programme across the whole school year ensuring each year group has at least one dedicated special event – usually a disco or a movie night as well as events that everyone can attend such as bake sales. We also hold annual events including a Christmas adventure trail, scoot-a-thon, quiz nights for parents and staff and of course the summer fair

Events

Our programme of events runs throughout the school year, with something for everyone. Events include bake sales, quiz nights, scootathons, an Advent trail and the summer fair.

Donate

You can donate to FOSH in a number of different ways:

  • Donate or set up a regular donation via PayPal.
  • Shop online via Easy Fundraising, selecting Friends of South Harringay as your cause. You can buy from more than 8,000 retailers including John Lewis, Argos, M&S, and Clarks, and the retailer will donate to FOSH at no extra cost to you.
  • Attend any of our events during the year!

Please encourage your family and friends to donate, shop through Easy Fundraising or attend our events and help raise even more money for the school.

Corporate Match Funding 

Corporate match funding and donations in kind make a significant difference to the amount we can raise. If your employer has a scheme that could support FOSH as a registered charity, please let us know.
