12 Nov Remembrance Day
We held a range of events over the last week so we could take part in remembrance day and support the children to understand the significance of this day. The Junior School Council organised the selling of poppies in the week leading up to the day. On the day, we had remembrance day assemblies in both the Infant and Junior school. Year 5 made a special visit to Stroud Green library where they had the pleasure of hearing Sue Hessel read some of the letters her uncle had sent back to the family during WW2. The letters detailed his deployment and journey through different countries and his hope to one day return to his family in Britian. Sue Hessel has compiled these letters into a book which can now be found in our school library for all to read.
