06 Nov Pumpkin Soup in Nursery
Last week our core book in olive class was Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper. Inspired by this book, we made our very own pumpkin soup from scratch. We chopped pumpkin pieces, we peeled garlic and onion (Sonya chopped those up for us), we added turmeric for taste, and finally we added water and stirred it before giving it to the chef to cook in the school kitchen. Thank you parents for the donations of pumpkins for both cooking and also for adding to our outdoor environment. A wonderful village effort for our nursery children to enjoy! We also started our woodwork station this week – learning how to use a screwdriver, putting screws into pumpkins! Wow – such concentration and hand to eye coordination from olive class.
