20 Oct Black History Month
As part of the celebration of Black History Month, we highlighted and celebrated women of black heritage who have and are making significant contributions to the fields of sports, politics, music, science and medicine, broadcasting and entertainment, literature and arts. We also explored the resilience of an inspirational woman who travelled to Britain on the Empire Windrush when she was just 14 years old. We discussed the huge contribution she has made to our society in the field of medicine.
Each class across KS2 went on to learn more about the Empire Windrush; the skills of the people who travelled on it and the significant contributions they made.
