06 Mar Spring Vegetables
Holly Class and Rowan Class have been exploring a series of books including ‘Oliver’s vegetables’ by Alison Bartlett and Vivian French which explore the main character’s (Oliver) relationship with fruit and vegetables. As Oliver explores the variety of fruit and vegetables we can find in both gardens and supermarkets, our pupils created their own vegetable gardens! It was a great opportunity to practice our fine motor skills and work in chopping food and making compost, fruit kebabs and fruit salads. It tied into our oral hygiene topics of exploring balanced diets and the importance of keeping our teeth healthy. We had a fantastic time exploring where our food comes from and the importance of making positive choices with the variety of foods that we eat.
