On Friday 17th November, our year 4 boys and girls Football teams took part in their first event of the season. There were 24 schools split into 5 groups, where the team finishing first in each group qualified for the top tier group in the afternoon where the top finishing team won the tournament.
Our girls lost the first game of the group to Rhodes Avenue 1-0 but then went on to win all remaining group games to finish 2nd in their group. They qualified for the 2nd tier group in the afternoon where we won 4 out of 5 games to finish top of the group and 6th out of 24 schools.
The boys won 4 out of 5 games in the morning, drawing 1 and therefore qualifying for the top tier group with a chance to win the tournament. They went one step better in the afternoon, winning all 5 games by playing some fantastic football in some very difficult games and finishing top of the table to win the tournament and take home the trophy! A huge achievement which the whole school should be proud of.
