10 Mar Year 1 Being Scientists!
Year 1 have been learning all about materials! Today, they began predicting which materials and objects would be best at making a house for the three little pigs. They then worked in groups making a house out of different materials and we tested their houses with a hairdryer (acting as the huffing and puffing of the big bad wolf) and poured water over their roofs to check how waterproof they were! The children had fun and realised why some houses needed more walls or a different material as the three little pigs may have got very wet! None of their houses actually fell over so they were all sturdy- some were more sturdy than others. One child said, “ This was the best science lesson ever!”
