Children in years 3-6 participated in an assembly based on the NSPCC’s ‘Let’s talk Pants’ campaign.  Following this, girls in year 5 learnt about the UN convention on the rights of the child.   Pupils also explored the difference between religion and culture before learning about FGM as an illegal cultural practice.  Pupils in year 6 explored the issues around body image in the media and how different cultures change their bodies before learning about how FGM is an illegal cultural practice.   Both year groups also learnt about the different ways in which they can seek help if they are concerned about themselves or their friends in relation to FGM.
