29 Mar Basketball Tournament
On March 24th our basketball team took part in their first tournament of the school year. The team, along with other students in year 6, have been training for the past 4 weeks with coaches from the London Elite coaching academy and the new skills they have developed throughout that training was evident throughout the tournament.
In the morning, there were 4 groups of 5 schools which were randomly selected. The top 2 teams from each group qualified for the final group of 8 teams to be played in the afternoon. We were fantastic and despite being in a very tough group managed to finish top after playing some very exciting, high scoring basketball. In the afternoon, we again played extremely well, but unfortunately finished just 1 point short of qualifying for the 3rd place play offs and finished in 5th place. This is still a brilliant result, finishing 5th out of 20 schools, especially considering most of the players have only been training for a few weeks.
The whole team should be extremely proud of themselves and how they represented the school. A huge well done to Red, Georgie, Nahil, Reggie, Jose and Otis.
