22 Oct Year 5’s contribution to Black History Month
Over the past few weeks, year 5 have looked at different BAME politicians from the UK and local communities, who have strived to make changes for a better future. As part of their learning, children discussed and brainstormed initial ideas of the characteristics of an activist. From this, they created a metaphorical class poem called ‘I am an activist’. Each metaphor reflects a different quality and characteristic. Finally, the children enjoyed performing their poems as a class, as well as reflecting on what it means to them to be an activist.
