Year 5 have shown their innovation and creativity this term by working collaboratively to build a toy car. This design and technology unit has really got children thinking about what it takes to be a manufacturer, why it is necessary to test out a product and why the first attempt may not always be the most successful. Some of their cars were great at reducing air resistance due to their design whereas some children focused primarily on ensuring the slingshot mechanism works upon release.
