As part of our aspiration to keep our attendance figures high, we have weekly attendance awards at our assemblies. The classes in KS1 and KS2 with the best attendance are recognised and awarded. We do the same with punctuality in key stage 2.
We understand that we all get ill from time to time. We encourage all children, and adults, to carefully assess whether their illness warrants staying at home. Parents and carers clearly need to support their child in making this assessment. We can all usually continue to attend school when we have a cold. Please use the link below to guide you.

If you do feel your child needs to stay at home due to illness, we ask that you notify the school ASAP. If your child is absent, and we have not heard from you, a member of our admin team may contact you. If your child has been absent from school for a number of days, or has had frequent periods of illness, we will also ask for evidence that you have sought medical support for your child.
If your child’s attendance falls below 97%, we will write to you and in some cases we will invite you in to discuss the issue surrounding the absences. If the absences continue, we will refer the case to our Education Welfare Officer who will also make contact with you.
We do not authorise holidays in term time. You may request special leave for your child during term time using our form. We ask that these request forms are filled in with as much notice as possible, so we can give them proper consideration. We will only authorise leave during term time in exceptional circumstances. Unauthorised leave during term time can lead to referral to our Education Welfare Officer and/or a fine.
