Head's Welcome

Welcome to our school’s website. We want it to reflect what a fantastic place our school is for children to learn, develop and play. We are a diverse community of learners, and we emphasise excellent progress, whatever each individual child’s starting point or circumstances.

School Vision

Our school is a thriving village ready to welcome those who have travelled from near and far and need a place to belong. Our village welcomes all people, and, those who struggle to feel at home will be enveloped within our heart, because time and care is taken to support those first tentative steps and each individual journey. As village elders, we’re excited by the variety that village life brings. We try to make every day better than the last. We prepare our people for their time when they will join another village, or even create their own.

Our admissions are handled by the local authority.

School Performance

All of our data points, across Infant and Junior schools demonstrate attainment significantly above national averages. There is no progress score for key stage 2 pupils for the next two years as these cohorts did not sit any Key stage 1 SATs due the impact of Covid 19 and the lockdowns.

Federation

A Federation between the SHJS and SHINS schools has secured high-quality leadership for our schools and lead to continued improvement in teaching and learning for current and future pupils at the schools.
