Pupils gain a knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. It inspires children’s curiosity to know more about the past and equips children to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgement. Children will learn about significant people and the qualities that make someone great.
History is taught through our thematic curriculum in key stage 1 and through the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) in key stage 2. Our thematic approach ensures that staff are able to tap into children’s interests and children are able to engage with the world around them
