Through the art curriculum we encourage children to experiment, invent and create their own works of art, craft and design. Pupils develop their skills and understanding and know how art and design reflect and shape our history and contribute to culture and creativity.
In key stage one the Suffolk scheme of work for art and design provides progression and continuity of learning experiences across the following 6 areas of experience: Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, Collage, Textiles and 3D.
The International primary curriculum (IPC) incorporates art and design into the thematic units of work taught across key stage 2.
Our first annual art week in June 2016 gave all children in EYFS and key stage 1 the opportunity to immerse themselves in the art, music and culture of Brazil in the run up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
